Proving that cream & crimson are always in season, Community and School Partnerships teamed up this year with the Cool Girls Atlanta organization to provide IU apparel for the annual Cool Girls Back to School Shopping Day.
The 2019 event treated nearly 125 girls from underserved communities in Atlanta to a brand new backpack full of school supplies, along with lunch, a dance workshop, and other programming. The highlight of the day for many was the opportunity to go "shopping" in a specially designed boutique, where all items had been donated to the program and provided free of charge to students.
Participation in the Back to School Shopping Day serves as a reward for girls who remain involved in Cool Girls programming throughout the year. The boutique shopping spree features a College Corner, which outfits each girl in a college T'shirt and sends a powerful message about the importance of staying in school.
